So disappointing.
By Pastor Randy
I ordered this Bible with much anticipation and went through much of it eagerly as soon as I received it. I was so disappointed after reading many of the notes. I'll list the pros and cons from my point of view as a former Bible School professor and pastor.
Pros:
It's the New King James Version - Love it.
Love Charisma.
Good cross references.
Decent (not great) concordance.
Good maps
Nice layout and fonts - looks really good.
Some of the articles are great and very helpful.
Great idea.
Cons:
No red letters - a great help to me in scanning for something Jesus said.
Major typos in Appendix C - 60 Symptoms of a Demonic Attack (Which is actually only 37 Symptoms because 23 are repeated).
Several unbiblical articles and statements (they either contradict the Bible, or cannot be supported or proven from Scripture).
Some statements are close to heresy. (As in the book of Daniel, where one article says that Daniel realized that God didn't
keep His Promise to Jeremiah - that God didn't keep His Word).
Dozens and dozens of statements and teachings that are just opinions or theories - but stated as Scriptural.
Charisma only quoted authors from their own publishing house. This was a MAJOR mistake. They left out some of the best writings on Spiritual Warfare - such as Dean Sherman, Jack Hayford, and Ray Stedman.
The editor did not proof any of the content. (If only a real Bible scholar or Theology professor had edited it). You can tell everything was just cut and pasted from Charisma's own books - with no editing or proofing.
Weird, bizarre and unscriptural statements - like listing Caffeine and Food as names of demons, and listing the spirit of fear in 2 Tim. 1:7 as a New Testament demon - the verse says that GOD has NOT given us a spirit of fear - but of love...
If you don't mind using unscriptural tactics to try to fight the enemy - this Bible is for you. (But I have a feeling that when you rebuke or bind the demon named Caffeine - your cup of coffee will just sit there untouched).
Then there are dozens of just silly things: grief, suffering, accidents, a miscarriage, difficult birth, having an epidural, barrenness, and the spirit of man are listed as demons. Most of the demons named are listed in the New Testament as works of the flesh. The Bible says to crucify and deny the flesh - not cast it out.
One thing that stood out to me was - "desire to do what is right but an inability to carry it out" - is listed as one of the symptoms of a demonic attack. Paul clearly said in Romans 7 and 8 that this was because of the weakness of our flesh, and a lack of the Holy Spirit. Every child of God experiences this. Only walking in the Spirit gives us victory over our flesh. (Romans 8:1-10)
I could go on.
It's too bad.
I wish Charisma and Nelson would re-publish this and get a real Bible scholar to re-edit this Bible.
I believe in Spiritual Warfare and I know it's real. But you must fight the enemy Biblically and with TRUTH - not with man-made ideas, opinions, and theories.
When Jesus fought satan - He said - "IT IS WRITTEN" - and then quoted Himself from the Old Testament. He was showing us how to resist satan.
(And I wish that there had been more and better teaching and articles on Spiritual Authority, on the Power of the Name of Jesus, the Power in the Blood of Jesus, and the Victory of the Cross.)
I pray that this review will help you.
God Bless you in your Warfare to know Jesus as The Heavenly Bridegroom!

Spiritual Warfare Bible
By Joshua Triggs
I had very high expectations for the S.W.B. as I do with every bible that contains anything other than scripture. I was let down in a sense that it does not meet the mark by far. It does have some very valuable information in it but most of it is nothing more than opinion that is not backed by scripture. When I seen the Spiritual Warfare Bible I went home and ordered it right away. I was so excited that there was finally a bible devoted to war against the devil I paid the extra money to overnight it to me. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and delve into the information within. At first glance this is one of the most beautiful bibles I own. The scriptures on the back, the script writing on the front, the layout of the bible itself, the maps are some of the most unique maps I have ever seen, the concordance is nicely detailed, and the font is perfect.
Unfortunately, that is where it stops for me. The content that is in the bible other than scripture is seriously needing to be proof read by a highly qualified biblical scholar. There are so many places in this bible that are opinions that contradict the bible and can not be proven by scripture and some of these statements are heretical. There is an article in Daniel where Cindy Trimm states that God didn't keep His word to Jeremiah. I don't think Cindy is worshiping the same God I am. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He has never failed in keeping His promise and this should not of been allowed in this bible. It can give "New Christians" the wrong impression that God is not faithful. There are so many other things that are completely absurd. Page 2030 starts the heading "Grouping of Various Evil Spirits". The writer says these are names of demons. I'm not going to go into all because there are around 100 of them or so going form A to Z but I will name a few. Victim- Being a victim is not being cursed by an evil spirit as the writer states. I'm sure anyone who has ever had something happen to them will agree. Sports- I know some very godly people who play sports and I am positive that if sports were demons those godly people who play them would have some conviction of the Holy Spirit. Fatigue- I don't know why this is in here but after a hard days work I don't know anybody that wouldn't come home tired. That's why people sleep and take naps, because we get fatigued. I don't think the writer has ever spent an hour in the gym. There is a big difference between being tired and being lazy as I'm sure everyone will know and I think the writer would benefit from stating the difference. Tea leaves- I don't have any idea why the writer says that tea leaves are evil spirits? If wine, which is an alcohol, was allowed in the bible then why are tea leaves evil? On pg 2035 the writer also states that surgeries, anesthetized, epidurals, and C-sections are evil spirits. I don't understand why surgeries are evil spirits? I have had several surgeries including my appendix and wisdom teeth. I can tell you that I was very thankful to the surgeons that went to school to learn how to do those things so I didn't have to live with those conditions. I want you to realize that I am not taking these things out of context and just being critical. I am very cautious when I read some ones opinion when it pertains to scripture. If it does not line up with scripture then it is FALSE and WRONG. I have never read anywhere in scripture where it states that tea, sports, being tired, surgeries, C-sections, or anything else like that is a sin. I also don't agree when the writer says that those things are curses. If you are in Christ, you are a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17. I am a new creation! I now have the Christ and am now longer bound by the things of old. I AM NEW! This bible is a wonderful idea that would benefit millions of people all over the world but it needs a highly skilled team of scholars, theological professors, pastors, and a team of editors go through this bible and fix all the errors. I so hope this bible gets fixed because I know so many people including myself that could greatly use something like this. Unfortunately, this bible has to many errors in it to be a truly effective spiritual warfare weapon. Please don't take my word for it. Go to any Christian book store and turn to pg 2030 and see for yourself if what the writer is saying is aligned with scripture. I pray you see the truth. It is written between Genesis and Revelation!!! GOD BLESS...
