Dalla prefazione dell'autore: Sono passati tre anni da quando ho scritto questo romanzo e ancora ricordo alla perfezione il momento in cui questa storia mi ha attraversato da parte a parte, lacerandomi senza lasciare alcuna possibilità di cura se non la scrittura.
Avevo vent'anni e, come la maggior parte delle persone su questo pianeta, svolgevo un lavoro che non corrispondeva affatto ai miei sogni. Ma in quelle ore vuote, nocive per l'anima, mi capitò in mano un articolo che parlava dello sfruttamento dei bambini in Africa da parte di una comunità italiana.
L'ho riletto non so quante volte, quell'articolo. Tornato a casa mi sono messo a fare ricerche su Internet e mi sono stupito del fatto che quasi nessun giornale parlasse di quella situazione (sarebbe meglio dire “questa”, dato che è ancora attuale). Così, dopo vari approfondimenti, mi sono detto: «Se non ne parla nessuno, allora lo faccio io», ed ecco come è nato questo romanzo.

È bene conoscere ció che molti - italiani - ignorano. Purtroppo ci sono molti connazionali dedicati all'oppressione dell'umanità

Romanzo tratto da fatti accaduti recentemente. Ho letto con interesse e attenzione questo scritto e ho avuto il piacere (anzi, il dispiacere) di conoscere una realtà terribile. Speravo un finale diverso, ma penso sia dovuto al realismo del racconto. Si spera che tutto finisca bene, quando nella realtà spesso non è cosí.
