About the Author

If you thought "it was only a dream" was a cheat ...

This 12-page-long short story was the weakest piece in the Oz Reimagined: New Tales from the Emerald City and Beyond collection. Old Dorothy Gale now lives in a nursing home, miserable and lonely. On this particular day, she falls asleep and finds herself back in Oz, young again, and being led around by a talking Toto. If you thought "it was only a dream" was a cheat, you'll be even more thrilled with Greene's religion-based doubling-down.

Something short and beautiful, from Simon R. Green

I loved this. Yes, as one commenter said -- the story has a kind of religious reference, but not anything that I think most people would find in any way repugnant. For my own part, I found it beautiful. The price may be rather steep for such a short story, but then again, it's not too dear a price at all for a story that left me feeling so good.
