About the Author
Jonathan Maberry is a NY Times bestselling author, multiple Bram Stoker Award winner, and Marvel Comics writer. He’s the author of many novels including Assassin’s Code, Flesh & Bone Dead of Night, Patient Zero and Rot & Ruin; and the editor of V-Wars: A Chronicle of the Vampire Wars. His nonfiction books range on topics from martial arts to zombie pop-culture. Canon Oz (with a caveat)

Brilliant story, and really the only one in this anthology that's harmonious with the Oz books.
However, it's the Wicked Witch of the East that owns the Silver Shoes, NOT the Wicked Witch of the West. And frankly, I'm surprised by the oversight. The author goes to great lengths with the story's characterizations, plot, mood and themes, and yet, he errs on a rather significant point that's even correct in the MGM film.
So, minus a star for that because it hampers what is otherwise a great story.
