sounds so good!

How can you not like a book that creates cravings but tells you how to appease them? Have made two of the pour the batter into the slow cooker cakes and they were delicious. A little hard to get out though even with greasing the insert. If you are looking for a beautiful cake to decorate maybe you should stick to traditional methods. I wonder how many times the author had to make a recipe before a picture perfect illustration was made?
My slow cooker's inserts (I have three, in different sizes) are fluted. They start out wide at the top and go narrower at the bottom. I will not be able to make a cake calling for the pan to sit in the cooker on its own. Tried an empty pan, but had to turn my insert upside down and bang it on the counter to get the pan out.
Borrowing the book before buying like I did will give you an idea if your slow cooker will work with some of these recipes. I am buying the book and maybe a newer slow cooker. Making a few of the cakes will save you the cost of the book.

desserts in a slow cooker?!

I purchased a slow cooker over a year ago and it has been great for cooking stews and meat. I would have never thought to use it for desserts though and was intrigued by this book. A lot of the recipes use the slow cooker as kind of a water bath similar to an oven but I have to say, it cooks things very evenly and works great! The flan recipe was amazing as well as the praline cheesecake. There are plenty of recipes for stewed fruits which look tasty and I have yet to try any of the cookies or brownies but I bet they are moist and delicious!
